– This past week, due to a very successful “free CD” campaign, we are honored to welcome 88 new members into the ELM TREASON eco-system.  If you are one of these people, WELCOME… and THANK YOU! The pleasure is all ours.

– We’re also thrilled to announce that THE UPTOWN Q Facebook Group is up to 342 riders!

You Say: Band Names…

Hello Treasonites!

Setting the music aside, let’s talk NOMENCLATURE!

There may be bands or artists you don’t really dig, but you LOVE their name. Or maybe you DO dig what they do, and the name only hammers the point home.

So MANY great band and artist names to choose from. If you like, choose three.

Someone asks you: “What are the greatest names for a band or artist you’ve ever heard?”

You say……

Love it! I didn’t remember Lou Reed’s nip in the bud . . . I mean butt.

Shelley Briley

Spinal Tap, Nine Inch Nails, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Band…

Bill Boys

I think The The is a clever name because it seems to be making fun of the naming band process. I always like The Beatles because of the musical play on the word, beat. I like the Rolling Stones because of the play on the Rock Genre (Stones). I’m not sure if that was their intention though. Also the Rolling part of their name is apt because they’ve got to be the most well traveled band in history. Toad the Wet Sprocket is cool because it’s a Monty Python reference and Python is cool. I don’t know it’s origin but I just like saying Mott the Hoople. The Band is a good name because those guys couldn’t be bothered by the whole naming the band process so they came up with a name. I would name a band Now Appearing. I like Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. I like Modest Mouse, Death Cab For Cutie and the Artic Monkeys. I think For One Night Only would be a bad name for a band.

Bill Boys

I like the name Elm Treason because I think it’s a clever way to come up with a name and there’s a cool story behind it and then there’s Realm Tones and love that name for the business and because it’s part of the anagram process. Oh….Steely Dan is a great name because the truth about the name is naughty.

Katie

Take your time on Without a Tribe as all of your fans know that you will give us nothing but the best and and the mouth watering anticipation is kinda fun, reminiscent fo if the days of old when you had to wait for that ultimate record release!!

Mental as Anything was an awesome name, great band as well. A come together one would have to be The Box of Frogs and the Honeydrippers…

daryl

loved the box of frogs

My list would include wishbone ash, mahogany rushand buffalo springfield. I just love have the words flow together, and the bands as well.

Ellen Hakala

Sorry Andy two more from my CD collection The Blue Ridge Rangers and The Ozark Mountain Daredevils…

Matthew Nielsen

I like the name Deadeye Dick because it’s a Kurt Vonnegut reference to one of his more underrated (in my opinion) novels
