-As of this issue, Andy’s daughter Chantelle has not had her first child yet. She went into the hospital to be induced as of Thursday morning, June 30th.

Andy Scott, lead guitarist for Sweet, had his 73rd birthday on Thursday.
Gilson Lavis, drummer for Squeeze, turned 71 on Monday.
Mike Kroeger, bass player for Nickelback, was 50 on Saturday.
Mick Jones, guitarist for The Clash, turned 67 last Sunday..
On Monday, Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys turned 80.
Chris Isaak celebrated birthday number 66 last Sunday.
Colin Greenwood, bassist from Radiohead, was 53 last Sunday.
Glenn Shorrock, lead singer from The Little River Band, celebrated birthday 78 on Thursday.

Elvis Presley’s original guitarist, Scotty Moore, dies at age 84. Moore, who played on rock classics like “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Jailhouse Rock,” was the last living member of original Presley team.

The Flaming Lips break the record for the most live shows performed in multiple cities within 24 hours. The band performed eight times across the Mississippi Delta, as part of MTV’s O Music Awards.

The casket holding Lynyrd Skynyrd lead singer Ronnie Van Zandt is stolen from its mausoleum in Jacksonville, Florida, but left after vandals are unable to open it.

After a failed attempt shooting a studio video for “Dancing In The Dark,” Bruce Springsteen does it live at his concert in St. Paul, Minnesota. During Clarence Clemons’ sax solo, he brings up 19-year-old Courteney Cox (staged) to dance with him.

Marvel Comics publishes a Kiss comic book with a vial of their blood mixed into the ink.

Beatle Battle – George Harrison’s “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)” dislodges Paul McCartney and Wings’ “My Love” from the #1 spot on the US singles charts.
51 YEARS AGO THIS PAST WEEK
New York City’s Fillmore East concert hall closes. The Allman Brothers Band, Edgar Winter, Country Joe McDonald and the Fish and The Beach Boys are on the bill for the last show.
