THE ELM TREASON NEWSLETTER NUMBER 61

ELM TREASON LATEST
– Many people have been asking whether or not the band will be offering a “PLAY LOUD, LISTEN LOUDER” t-shirt, since it is one of Elm Treason’s running taglines. GOOD NEWS! We are working on it!
– Andy remains in Texas. His daughter is about two weeks away from giving birth (inducement date set for June 30th). It may happen earlier, of course. Meanwhile, mixing, mixing, mixing.
-Bobby’s school year (he’s a music teacher, if you didn’t know… and a damn good one, frankly) is drawing to close. June 27th approaches!
– Remixes for the vinyl release of the band’s first album “Days of Reaction” are just about finished as well. (Yep, we’re going vinyl with our first album). The masters should be sent to the pressing plant within two weeks.
IF YOU HAVEN’T HEARD… We have decided on the title of our next album. After going round and round with it for a while, it’s now official..
WITHOUT A TRIBE

Madman across the water (Elton John)
SUCH an unheralded song. SO underrated. THis is LITERALLY one of my (Andy’s) all-time ELTON tunes. And he sings it so damn well.
OUTSTANDING pick, John.
21st Century Schizoid Man!
“Death seed, blind man’s greed. Poets starving, children bleed. Nothing he’s got, he really needs. 21st century schizoid man..”
Mic drop.
Simple Man, New World Man
VERY VERY cool.
Skynyrd and Rush.
A killer two-fer if ever there was one…. In fact, I feel like the former…
Breaking out SIGNALS now…
Rocket Man / Elton John
Hey, Alvin! AWESOME to hear from you. Thank you much.
Yep, this song is one that just flirts with perfection on so many levels. The SOUND of this recording is so good. The mix. The production. It just doesn’t get too much better.
With you on this one.
Thanks a million!
“Sharp dressed man” ZZ Top
I (Andy) just LOVE that groove. Nifty little bluesy guitar riff…
I walk a good five to six miles every morning, and the TEMPO of that song is just perfect for my stride.
Dig it much, Shelley!
Congratulations Grandpa Andy, So cool out of school Bobby. Will love the Vinyl to go with my The Voice of Treason. Will you be autographing this one also? 🙂 Looking forward to capturing your new music. Joining in on old favorites: Too much time on my hands-Styx & Rock Steady-The Whispers. You’re added to my new list, This Generations Favorites. Rock on my music friends. May peace be with you always.
Hi Alice! Just marvelous to hear from you. How are you, Alice?
We LOVE the idea of having our music out on vinyl. It’s expensive, time-consuming and an extravagance. We understand that, but there is something supremely satisfying in it. We’re looking forward to having ALL of our releases on vinyl at some point. 🙂
Love your picks, Alice. Thank you for sharing.
Peace be with you and yours!
Heart: Magic Man
Love the Magic Man
It’s a great harmony guitar lead song, a great synth song, an amazing vocals song, based on a true story that was expressed perfectly. Top ten greatest Rock songs ever, from my perspective, any way.
Agreed, Bill!
Sensational song, yes. It kind of has it all. Thanks, Ellen!
Excellent choice. Just a chunky groove… everything about it is kind of perfect. And I’m a sucker for the in your face, dry, up-front honest production…. Makes the mouth water a bit.
So many favorites to choose from… Quiet Man by John Prine…Man Overboard Deborah Conway…My Country Man by Ruby Turner and the classic Backdoor Man by the great man himself Howlin Wolf…
Happy Father’s day to you guys too thanks for the comics and other rock and roll trivia and congratulations on the grandchild I too have a daughter who is expecting any day now with grandchild number seven. The song that I like doesn’t have the word man in the title but he says hey man a lot, suffragette City David Bowie hey man, leave me alone. Hey man, going to get off the phone, or something like that. Anyhoo……
Hey, David! CONGRATS on your soon-to-be grandfather status! It’s up to us to keep the music alive in the hearts, minds and souls of the young ones coming along! TRULY HOPE all goes well for your daughter and the little one. “Mazel Tov” as my grandma used to say!
SUFFRAGETTE CITY counts! GOOD choice!
GREAT choice, actually.
My Old Man’s A Dustman – Lonnie Donegan????
HAHAHA! I (Andy) thought I may have been the ONLY dude left who knows that song. WOW. GREAT pick!
“Oh, my old man’s a dustman. He wears a dustman’s hat. He wears cor blimey trousers and he lives in a council flat..”
Made my day, Fil!
Mystery Man by the Frost
Outstanding off-the-beaten-path pick. Had to check it out.
Outstanding!
Thanks so much.
Yea on the tee shirt and on the first Treason grandbaby! Simple MN, Skynard; Magic Man, Heart
Thank you, Shelley! Glad you dig the t-shirt idea. We’ve had quite a few requests! (And that’s a good thing)…
Love your picks right there. SIMPLE MAN has grown to be one of my (Andy’s) favorites of all…. I have always liked it, but it’s power and influence in my life has metastasized.
Piano Man (Billy Joel), Ramblin’ Man (Allman Brothers), Better Man (Pearl Jam). A few of my favorites. HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!
Hi Katie! Andy here. Hope your weekend was grand!
Nice trifecta there.. LOVE the Pearl Jam inclusion!
Man, oh man! (I did that on purpose, of course).
“When i was your man” Bruno Mars. This track reminds me of a girl i lost many years ago. Yes im still alive Andy and Bobby still playing your tunes guys.
SO SO SO GOOD to hear from you, Martin!
We were hoping you were still out there. And we are thrilled – genuinely so – that our music is still a part of your life. Thank you, brother. Truly hope you are well. 🙂
