Come Join our PRIVATE Facebook Group!
57 members strong so far.
Pretty damn cool!
As mentioned in the last two newsletters, if you are on Facebook, we have launched the official Elm Treason Facebook Group “The Uptown Q!” It’s a private group. By invitation only. (If you’re NOT on Facebook, good for you, frankly! LOL! The folks who receive this weekly newsletter comprise a community all its own).
Consider this an official invitation to join the group.
To be clear, we will still be running our “regular” Facebook page (until the Facebook Cops throw us in jail).
But we are wanting this group will be MORE interactive, more personal. It will have far less people as members compared to our “regular” page… and (if you’re so inclined) you WON’T miss a post from us if you don’t want to.
(So many people tell us that they miss so many posts from us on the regular page, thanks to the damn ALGORITHM).
Once you’re in, check out the WELCOME VIDEO at the top, grab yourself a WELCOME PACK (if you like) and say HI in the welcome thread. (There is a physical welcome pack we mail to you..OR a digital welcome pack you can download).
Hit this link and click the “JOIN GROUP” button. We will respond within a day – often within minutes.

Highway Star by Deep Purple, or LA Woman by the Doors
Perfect two-fer. How about we go with BOTH?
Thanks, Leo!
My brain is arguing, left brain says Grapefruit moon Tom Waits, right brain says Don’t fear the reaper BOC, guess I’m playing Elm Treason because that is what’s in my CD player right now!
Hey Jerry! Hey, we will TAKE IT! LOL. We’re happy to ride shotgun on ANY road trip. Quite an honor. THANK YOU, man.
By the way, I (Andy) dig BOTH of your picks.
China Grove by Doobie Brothers or Crazy on You by Heart.
Both great picks… but DAMN, Nancy’s acoustic guitar MAGNUM OPUS INTRO to that song is just sensational. Send chills down the spine, frankly.
Thanks, Katie!
Dont Stop Believing by Journey…
It’s almost as if that song was MADE for the highway, isn’t it, Dawn?
Ride, Jeremy Vwenj
Ooooh! Had to find it online, Shelley! Glad I (Andy) did.
Fantastic choice, sister!
The Ballad of UnEasyr Rder
“I was taking a trip out to L.A.
Tooling along in my Chevrolet
Toking on a number and digging on the radio”
“Just as I hit the Mississippi line, I heard that Highway startin’ to whine and I knew that left rear tire was about to go.”
Well the spare was flat and I got uptight ’cause there wasn’t a filling station in sight…So I just limped down the shoulder on the rim…
Literally, after reading your comment, I (Andy) popped this one on (after listening to Shelley’s choice). GREAT STUFF, John. One of my wife’s ALL TIME favorites, as well.
Thank you, man.
“Silver Machine” – Hawkwind
Such an UNDERRATED track, Fil. LOVE IT much.
Tom Petty Listen to her heart. Not a road song but a good start to a trip.
Specific road songs I like: Bad Co: Movin’ On, Jackson Browne, The Road, Eagles, Life in the Fast Lane, Edgar Winter, Free Ride, JB Running on Empty, LZ Goin’ to California, Steely Dan, Babylon Sisters
That playlist will get me ‘cross the state line just fine.
GREAT STUFF, Bill.
Well that is a hard one to choose so many bloody favorites but at this moment in time maybe Cory Morrow doing Not Fade Away now that is a arse kicking version for sure or the Blues Traveler doing Roadhouse blues….
Digging BOTH of those killer cover versions, Ellen. EXCELLENT choices. Each one does the original justice.
Thank you, Ellen!
What is and what should never be or ramble on by led zep
Also one of my (Andy’s) favorites to sing along with…. and I just LOVE the SOUND of that recording. Nice and chunky during the chorus.
Hot on the wheels of love. Course another day would probably be a different song????
Hey, David! GREAT to hear from you.
Yes, today’s favorite can’t compete with tomorrow’s favorite… which will be toppled by a new one the day after.
2 songs come to mind
RUSH-Red Barchetta
LED ZEPPELIN-Kashmir
Hello Vinny!
HELL YES to both. GREAT double shot right there.
Highway Song by Blackfoot
GREAT GREAT song, Daniel. LOVE IT tremendously. PERFECT.
Great question. I gotta say Radar love by… Golden Earring? Then maybe some I can’t drive 55 by Hagar.
Two of my (Andy’s) all-time favorite open highway jams. GREAT picks, Jake.
It’s half past four and I’m shifting gears.
Always.
