GROOVY NOODLES
THE ELM TREASON NEWSLETTER NUMBER 50
APRIL 1, 2022
Can you believe it? FIFTY??!!
Any one who knows us or has been fans of the band for a while know that we have tried on a few occasions over the years to deliver a regular newsletter.
We have 100% consistent in this endeavor.
We have failed every time… that is, up until now.
THIS TIME, we have reached issue NUMBER FIFTY!! Can you DIG IT?
And we haven’t missed a week since we started! (For those who doubt miracles, this fact alone should at least keep your mind opened to the possibility).
Of course, all the success is directly attributed to you who have faithfully come back week after week.
Thank you so much.
Latest Band Stuff!
So, a few exclusive band things to share with you…
1. We are thinking of having an album art contest for our next studio album release. This will be TRUE audience participation! We will ask people to design an album cover and submit it. The winner will win a copy of the album on both CD and vinyl as well as a few other goodies. For those who submit their work and do not win, they will still be forever enshrined on the album! Within the liner notes and inserts, we will include images the top 10 entries, eternally making them a part of the record.
2. Next week, we will be launching our “by-invite-only” private Facebook Group. We will be sending out links and will also have a way of signing up in next week’s newsletter. Looking forward to this!
3. We have another idea we are toying with – an EP (or maxi-single) featuring maybe three or four songs performed live (like we did on our BARE TONES album), but featuring original songs NOT AVAILABLE on any other album. It’s something we’re thinking about…
4. Andy and family will be in Texas for the foreseeable future to help out with the upcoming birth of his first grandchild in late June-Early July. All correspondence for the band should be temporarily directed to: Elm Treason, c/o Realm Tones Music, P.O. Box 424, Cibolo TX 78108 until further notice.

*** Do you get this newsletter via FACEBOOK MESSENGER?***
If you receive the link to this newsletter via Facebook Messenger, you know what kind of problems we’ve been having with automated delivery lately.
Frankly, it’s been supremely annoying.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had to literally send out each link manually… and that is just not efficient in any way, shape or form.
So, we are considering two other options that we will be asking you about over the next week or so… Would you like the link delivered your phone directly as a message from us? Or via email at an address that is operational and won’t send us into your SPAM folder?
We HATE that we have to do this, because Messenger is so convenient for us (and you, too, apparently) … but Facebook has been copping a monster attitude with us in recent weeks.
So, please keep an eye out for a message from us regarding delivery if you currently get this weekly link via Facebook Messenger.
Thanks much!

Always The Cars and Fleetwood Mac. I can’t help it. I love them. And they were interesting aside from the band to say the least . . . LOL.
Hey, there’s no need to “help it.” TWO GREAT bands. Period! Hey, if they bring you the POSITIVE you need, then call them MEDICINE. The best elixir there is.
We so appreciate you, Lisa.
Also I love the Noodles archive. Thanks, guys!
You are so VERY WELCOME, Lisa.
We thank YOU for coming back every week. 🙂
Elbow – It’s Looking Like a Beautiful Day. You canNOT be unhappy listening to this song.
Laura, you are perfectly correct. It’s in that category of “Should be prescribed to ANYONE who has the blues.” It may be a scientific reality that unhappiness cannot possibly thrive in that song’s presence. 🙂
Thank you, Laura!
Seal’s self titled album. The song “Crazy” resonates with me. It came out in 1991 and I still play that whole album loud!
VERY NICE, Shelley.
Isn’t it something like magic when a record resonates like that?
The Judds and the Eagles
Hi Barb!
GREAT choices.
It’s funny… I (Andy) love all the Eagles albums, but for times when some UPLIFTING is called for, I find myself going to the early albums more often (pre- HOTEL CALIFORNIA). Love ’em all, of course.
Thank you much!
I have a playlist on an old ipod that includes “Wash Away” by Joe Purdy, “”Somedays Are Diamonds” by Amos Lee, and “Landslide” (the live version) by Fleetwood Mac – go to songs. Happy 50th Noodles!!!
Katie, I (Andy) absolutely LOVE all the tunes you mentioned… and yes, the LIVE version of LANDSLIDE is wonderful. Kindred musical spirits!
Thank you for the “Happy 50th!” Hoping to keep this train rolling indefinitely!
Rock on!
Acoustic Treason
Wow.
You floor us, brother. Truly you do.
Thank you for saying that! There is a definite positive vibe that weaves its way in and out of the tracks on that record… even HOME ALONE BLUES is not really blues. “A brand new kind of “FREE” has me…” We had very definite positive wavelengths permeating everything we did on that album…. even Fort Misery is NOT miserable. LOL.
HUGE GRATITUDE.
tremendous thanks for the support, Bill.
So pleased our music connects with you.
RUSH
Permanent Waves and
Moving Pictures
Led Zeppelin
Physical Graffiti
Just can’t pick one….
Agreed, Vinny. It’s really NOT possible to pick just one… but damn, you’ve done a pretty damn good job right there.
Rock on, brother!
Jack Byron,Two Travelers. He’s a local musical brother, who travels all around the US,just looking for places to play. I’ve jadcthe pleasure of meeting him &he gave me a copy of his album, two travelers. You guys would love this dude, he’s an acoustic brother… Please look him up on u tube, you won’t be sorry. Of course, and I’m not just saying this,I also put on your album, you know the one. The music man with the outdoor jam….
Will definitely check him out, Joe. Thanks for pointing us in that direction!
And thanks for keeping some of them Elm Treason sounds alive. 🙂
Feel good music can be one of many, Zucchero, Eagles,Packets, Bowie, list goes on.
Album cover comp sounds fun, whats the theme? Happy 50th noodles, they have been great and happy toget it by email anytime.
Rock on guys
Agreed completely. “Feel Good” comes in a variety of modes and motifs. Do we need comforting? Are we feeling like partying? Do we need to wipe some blues away? They can all be the means to an end. Excellent point, Shirl.
Thanks for the thumbs up on the album cover contest. We’re still ironing out the precise theme… but the general gist is: “Even though not everything was better in the ‘old days,’ sometimes you just feel like “GOING YESTERDAY.” That’s the working title of the album “GOING YESTERDAY.” Sometimes, we look around and say, “Just once, I’d like to turn back the clock and pretend it was yesterday.”
Some people have “Gone Fishin'”
Some people are “Going Mobile.”
Some people are going insane.
On this record, we’re “Goin’ yesterday…”
That’s the basic premise… although not etched in stone… several of the songs have that kind of sentiment.
Everything in this weeks newsletter deserves a huge hell yeah and at least fiveWOW’s! And first grand baby is tooth special for words!!
As for song/album it depends on the day and the type of stress: It’s just one of days by Limpbiscuit for angst and blowing off steam; Kashmir by zeppelin if I need musical meditation; Voice of treason if I need to kick back and unwind; i’m all right by Kenny Loggins if I need to re-energize dance and giggle and sing loudly off key lol
Hi Shelley!
Thank you for the weekly enthusiasm. You, ALONE, are what we use to feel uplifted and positive. You have that kind of energy. 🙂
Wow. You include us among those monster music makers???? An honor, indeed. We are very very happy to be a part of your “kick back” routine.
Thank you, sister.
Beach Boys always lifts my spirits ????
Same here. “I Get Around” and “Good Vibrations” are SO FEEL GOOD. Even the slower numbers I (Andy) find uplifting. “In My Room” in particular. LOVE that song.
Forgot to mention awsome you are celebrating issue No 50 on my birthday, Rock on guys, play it loud
Shirley! A BELATED HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you! If we were in your neck of the woods, we would definitely jam for you. We truly hope your day was grand, full of music and fun. May you have meny many more!
Rock on!
Happy Birthday!
always put a smile on my face to read the newsletter each week. my go to cheer ups are dr hook, george thorogood, or a rock out to pretty much aby 80’s hairband – they all also work for helping motivate me to do housework
Love it, Cindy. I (Andy) saw a meme recently that the music we once rebelled with has now become the best house cleaning music around.
I wholeheartedly agree.
Thank you for the positive words about the newsletter! We’re lucky to have you out there.
Turnpike Troubadours- Good Lord Lorrie
Hi Paula!
Had to seek it out. I (Andy) had heard of the Turnpike Troubadours, but wasn’t sure I was familiar with the song. I was.
VERY cool selection!
Thank you much.
Ok, I’ve been bad. I don’t always read the Noodle. I don’t do a lot of email. BUT I do listen to music. Music with out adds, Yes CD’s are still played at my house. Most of the time Elm Treason is in the mix. And I’m looking forward to the latest CD’s from the guys.
Hope to see you soon. enjoy.
No need to apologize, Phil. Ever! We’re honored and fortunate to have you. PLEASE PLEASE let us know when the music arrives… And don;t worry… there’s a link on every page of every issue of the newsletter with links to past newsletters in case you want to catch up. 🙂
Thank you, brother. Truly.
The Beatles would be my go to. Pretty much anything by them, I know the words and can sing along. That always cheers me up.
Believe me most sincerely… I (Andy) FEEL YOU on that, Paul.
