Top 7 Reasons You NEED to own “BARE TONES.”

Your Input: Goosebump Moments!

We all have them… those moments in a song that make us go, “OH YEAH!” Those tingly instances.

Here’s a couple of examples…

For Bobby, after the solo break in the Led Zeppelin song “Heartbreaker” has come to an orgasmic stop, that “space” just before Robert Plant starts singing the words: “Work so hard I couldn’t unwind...” Bobby says you can feel that tension from the band ready to explode… just before they come back in. He loves that.

For Andy, in the Beatles song “I Want You (She’s So Heavy),” after the FIRST “She’s so…..” and following that first organ fill, the band comes back singing, in harmony, the word “Heavy.” Then, they repeat the word three more times, overlapping. That FIRST “heavy,” after the harmonized singing, is the one that gets Andy’s hair standing on end.

Little moments like that. Fleeting. Magical.

So many.

The solo after the 4/4 bit on Word to Word,
the way it comes in and flows and is oh so NICE!
Also, that last chorus of Penny Lane as it modulates into it!

I just love all your tunes!

That part on “I Want You (She’s So Heavy) is hard to compete with. I’m gonna cheat with more than one. First is on “Death On Two Legs” by Queen. It’s really more about the lyrics. Freddie sings “You can kiss my ass goodbye.” followed by “Feel good…are you satisfied. Do you feel like, suicide (I think you should).” The ultimate, you’ve wronged me, you terrible person song, at the lyrical payoff point.

Then there’s Heart,,,About midway through the song,Ann is singing “Try To understand” over and over and while she’s singing, underneath her are dual, harmony guitars. Then the lead break, then the breakdown, then the pause, then the keyboards with the ethereal voice chorus as the synthesizer continues. Finally Ann comes back with the vocal and the cold finish is da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-dut-dut.

Finally….”Soft and Sinister, comin’ again!” and then the spooky bridge with the spooky keyboard. Then one more verse. Then the down and around part…Finally, the song ends, pretty much the way it begins by eventually fading out like it faded in at the beginning.

Bill Boys

My pick me up jam isn’t really a jam. The lyrics remind me that things will get better. It’s Blue October: “Inner Glow.” As far as an adrenaline pumping rocker, I like “Jammin’ Me” by Tom Petty.

First choice for agreat pick me up is Zucherro oh and alittle band called Elm Treason

Paul F. ILLIG

For me the tingly thing happens on She’s So Heavy as you stated but also on Hey Jude when the brass section comes in. Love it!

Theresa Evans

the last verse in Queensryche’s Silent Lucidity…If you open your mind to me, you won’t rely on open eyes to see. The walls you built within, come tumbling down and a new world will begin….gets me every time.

To HELL with the negative

Honestly, you can pretty much go anywhere and feel the hate of knee-jerk tribalism weaving its way into everything. “Hooray for our side!” is pretty much all we hear about anything anymore. Even if you have “taken a side,” no matter your battle, there HAVE to be places to go to escape all that. At least, there should be

To just be… and enjoy things.

That’s why we do this newsletter.

And we thank you for coming back each week.

We posted this on our Facebook Page on Thursday afternoon:

#ThrowbackThursday #TBT – Today, something extra special!

Not a throwback, but a look FORWARD!

It’s LIVE Elm Treason, banging out the song “WITH YOU” from our new release “BARE TONES.”

This song originally appears on our debut album DAYS OF REACTION. This version is a kickin’ two-man jam, performed just as we do it when we play out.

The audio is mixed and mastered. Three cameras captured the jam.

This tune, taken from the DVD/BluRay issue of BARE TONES, features some wicked lead work by Bobby… and a groove that cooks. We are definitely IN THE ZONE.

BARE TONES – the full 15 song performance – is available RIGHT NOW on CD, Vinyl, DVD, Bluray and digital download. Special collector’s bonus packages available, too!
