Your Answer Is…

Hi, Treasonites!

Okay, whether or not you generally dig love songs (and for the most part, the boys of Elm Treason are AT BEST supremely indifferent to them), most people have a song or two in the “romantic” or “amorous” realm they really like.

Now, whether it goes back to your “hang out” and “make out” days of youth, or you have a special song today that touches the heart, we want to know what YOUR LOVE SONG is.

As an example… Andy and Amy’s wedding song was “Never My Love” by the Association. It is STILL their song.

So, if someone asks you: “If you had to pick one, what love song do you actually like a lot…or even love?”

Your answer is:

C.T.A ” I love you more today than yesterday ” ✌️🌺😎

Jenn Beckwith

Bless the Broken Road done originally by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. It was our wedding song in 2014. Also The Wedding Song by Paul Stookey; that gives me chills since I was a small child in the 1970s.

Katie

Just Because by Ray Charles has become my husband’s and my song over the years, although we also danced to Never My Love at our wedding in 1979.

Bob Seabock

Our wedding theme song was Patsy Cline’s “Crazy”. Still appropriate.

Jonathan Paul Akre

After All These Years

BOBBY

I Should’ve Known Better & If I Fell are beautiful love songs

And of course This Is Not a Love Song by PIL is my favorite 🙂

Michael Schuster

Can’t do one…sorry…or even 10…so many great love songs. But 3 come to mind immediately – “Waiting For a Girl Like You” Foreigner, “You Are So Beautiful” Joe Cocker, and, one that really resonates with me, “Without You” Elm Treason.

BOBBY

how could I forget the legendary love song of them all

Satellite by the Sex Pistols

that’s my kinda love song. 😀

Ellen Hakala

A Guy Clark song Magnolia Wind sung by Emmylou and John Prine and a John Prine song called In Spite of Ourselves sung by John Prine and Iris Dement.

Ellen Hakala

Ain’t nothing you can do by the Commitments. Broken Hearted People sung by Ron Sexsmith and not sure if its heartbreak but Roy Buchanan doing When a Guitar Plays the Blues.

Rick Kendrick

When I was going to Jr. High YMCA dances in the mid/late 60s it might have been Special Angel by Bobby Helms. It was the song I waited for to ask the girls to slow dance ! But today , and ever since about 1970, when I 1st heard it, it would be Cinnamon Girl by Neil Young. When I heard this, I knew it was my destiny. However all the red haired girls I went out with turned into disaster. Went out with lots of girls, and was attracted to, who were dark haired and dark complected with American Indian blood(I think it was a Cher thing !). I even married one, but it was very short lived. All the while, Cinnamon Girl was still circlin` my head. Then I met my now wife in 1981 and I knew my destiny was real. She is a red haired Irish girl/woman, and I would not be here today, if I had not met and stayed with her ! So in my case, the song led me to the woman, rather than the other way around.

Ronald Swanson

Midnight Blue from ELO’s Discovery.

Ronald Swanson

In response to your list of heartbreak songs, a couple of my favourites are from way back, Diary from Bread and much more recent, Nothing Breaks Like a Heart from Miley Cyrus.

Barb Hilltop

My wedding song, was “love of a lifetime”, by Firehouse

Keith

Babe STYX

Joe Tarach

” In My Life ” ( Beatles / John Lennon )… I think it works for any kind of love. It always makes me think of loved one’s who are gone when I hear it. Such a good tune.

Siobhan Kulpa

Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. My boyfriend of nine years picked it for us. It’s a beautiful song that is relevant to so many people and relationships. I listen to it over and over. I never tire of listening to it. I only wish he could remember why he picked it as he struggles these days. It brings tears to my eyes. I have very fond memories, every time I hear it. 💜💜💜

David Foulk

“Never Enough” The Cure, oldest daughters mother failed to see the humor 😆
