THE ELM TREASON NEWSLETTER NUMBER 119

OCTOBER 27, 2023

TREASON NOODLES

– Work continues on the next music video from the new album “WITHOUT A TRIBE.” Realistically, a mid-November drop date is what we’re looking at.

– Another FREE CD campaign is happening right now in the hope of bringing more friends and fans into the Elm Treason eco-system. We’re using the song “Uptown Q” from our “BARE TONES” DVD as the “bait.” If you see this post come through your newsfeed, please don’t hesitate to pepper it with positive feedback and comments. 🙂 But ONLY if you mean it. 🙂

So, this week, it’s all about the marriage of music and movies… whether it be a musical, a concert film, a bio pic, whatever..

Someone asks you to “Name your favorite rock and roll movie.”

little wierd, but i always watched “dazed and confused” for the tracks as much as the movie itself. “empire records” is fun too, and as per my usual birthday tradition i will be making my husband watch my favourite – ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW

BillBoys

I guess I don’t have that much experience with Rock movies. I liked That Thing you do. I thought the music for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood set an incredible vibe for the time the movie was set in. I love the song, There Are Worse Things I could do from Grease. And Grease ranks near the top. I’d say Let it Be, but that movie has eluded me for more than a half a century.

BillBoys

THIS IS SPINAL TAP!!!!

BillBoys

FM was a horrible movie with a great soundtrack.

BillBoys

Yes. For some reason, I blanked on Hard Days Night and Help! Help! is actually at the top of my list, I just had a brain fart in thinking about those two movies for some reason. Dementia, perhaps. LOL

Help!

Thank you!
I totally blanked on Help! but that is BY FAR my favorite music from a Rock film.

Two I really like are performance films. Stop Making Sense (Talking Heads) and Secret World Live (Peter Gabriel). Both great.

Trick or treat, Eddie and the Cruisers, and not exactly a rock and roll movie, but the music was the best part, heavy metal
