The Wall
Seen it so many times, I know it by heart. It’s in my (Andy’s) DNA.
little wierd, but i always watched “dazed and confused” for the tracks as much as the movie itself. “empire records” is fun too, and as per my usual birthday tradition i will be making my husband watch my favourite – ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW
Great stuff, Cindy.
Dazed and Confused is a personal favorite.
Any time I (Andy) watch any of those films, it’s a kind of time warp.
I guess I don’t have that much experience with Rock movies. I liked That Thing you do. I thought the music for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood set an incredible vibe for the time the movie was set in. I love the song, There Are Worse Things I could do from Grease. And Grease ranks near the top. I’d say Let it Be, but that movie has eluded me for more than a half a century.
THIS IS SPINAL TAP!!!!
FM was a horrible movie with a great soundtrack.
Easily one of my (Andy’s) favorite movies … ever.
I thought for sure you’d include “A Hard Days Night” in there somewhere. 🙂
For me, it’s as good as it gets as far as rock and roll and roll flicks go.
Yes. For some reason, I blanked on Hard Days Night and Help! Help! is actually at the top of my list, I just had a brain fart in thinking about those two movies for some reason. Dementia, perhaps. LOL
Heavy Metal
The memories associated with it, for me (Andy), are priceless.
Great choice.
Help!
Thank you!
I totally blanked on Help! but that is BY FAR my favorite music from a Rock film.
I (Andy) love “Help!” The soundtrack is sensational.
But for me, in the Fab realm, a lean towards A HARD DAYS NIGHT..
Plus, the British version of the album is one of the best rock/pop albums ever released… in my humblest opinion.
Hard Days Night
Help
Phantom of the Paradise
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
That’s one hell of a movie night!
I (Andy) will bring the munchies!
It Might Get Loud – Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White talking guitars, their music, their bands.
Love it as well, Michael!
Pink Floyd The Wall, always The Wall!
So you thought you might like to go to the show….
Roadie, Rocky Horror, and Spinal Tep.
Spinal Tap is SOOOOOO quotable.
My (Andy’s) wife and I are always parrying lines from that film.
This is Spinal Tap and It Might Get Loud
Dig ‘em both, Lisa.
Nice call.
Two I really like are performance films. Stop Making Sense (Talking Heads) and Secret World Live (Peter Gabriel). Both great.
I (Andy) have seen both, especially the Talking Heads film, multiple times.
I love Peter Gabriel.
Thanks, Janet!
Trick or treat, Eddie and the Cruisers, and not exactly a rock and roll movie, but the music was the best part, heavy metal
I (Andy) remember watching Eddie and the Cruisers so many times back in the day.
Loved it.
Eddie and the Cruisers
Loved it!
I have got no rock and roll movie, but I love some soundtracks from movies. Crossroads and Paris Texas and Thelma and Louise..
That’s actually a great question to pose sometime, Ellen…
Favorite movie soundtracks!
Thank you!
The Commitments ????
Oooh, yes! Well played.
Thanks, Siobhan! One of the first films I (Andy) saw with my wife.
I love the Rocky Horror Picture Show! I hope that counts!!
It does count!
And you’re not the only one to choose that movie this week.
“Across the Universe” — all new COVERS of BEATLES SONGS — and the STORY LINE FIT – just like “SPLHCB” <3
Indeed, some of those covers are quite good.
Good film, too.
Purple Rain, then FM. Neither were the best movies, but had awesome soundtracks!
Two great soundtracks, yes.
As far as the movies are concerned, Out of the two, I (Andy) preferred Purple Rain.
I’ve been listening to a lot of 60’s music lately, so I’m going with Dirty Dancing. May have a different answer next week…
Footloose came to mind, as as chariots of fire
American Graffiti
