YOU SAY:

Favorite Female Vocalist

Hello Treasonites!

We CRAVE hearing from you on this one, so PLEASE hit that comments section!

This week, we’re going for the gold. We salute the great ladies of rock and roll (and all genres beyond).

Yup, it’s a HARD question to answer. It’s hard to pinpoint just one… Honestly, who can definitively zero in on one favorite of anything?

But that’s what makes this a ton of fun, no?

Obviously, you can go way beyond the four pictured above.

Someone asks you: “Who is your favorite female vocalist of all?”

You say……

Helen Reddy! I love her voice, it is so soothing. her songs are phenomenal.

Peter Tanico

I’m going to go with Stevie Nicks.

Shannon Gillespie

Juice Newton! When I was a child I used to beg my grandpa to play guitar and sing her songs for me.

Michael Schuster

Ann Wilson…still rockin’ it. But there are many…

Alan Seger

Yep! That’s the one.

Chris Pool

Chrissie Hynde. Her voice touches me in places that very few ever do. It feels exciting and emotional and extremely personal. Love her.

Bill Boys

Ann Wilson is my favorite because of the songs she, her sister and their friend wrote. Joyce Kennedy of Mother’s Finest, in my opinion, is the best female singer ever.

Rich B

I have to go with Anita Baker

Bob Seabock

Billie Holiday

Ira Weiner

sorry, just can’t do it. when i think of one there is always another.

Jody

Patsy Cline

Shelley Briley

Bonnie Raitt

Katie

I have been thinking about this since yesterday. I don’t know that I have a favorite. I like a lot of different female vocalists for different reasons. That said, the only female vocalist I would probably pay the big bucks to see in person is Barbra Streisand. I don’t have a lot of her music on record or CD, she’s not on any of my devices; but when I hear her sing, I stop and take notice. When she performs “My Man” at the end of Funny Girl it gives me goosebumps and makes me cry. The ultimate Diva!

We took my mom to see her as she was on my moms bucket list and although she was played lot when I was a kid…my mom was ecstatic and cried and it was an amazing show!

Katie

She was one of my mom’s favorites too, along with Judy Garland.

shelley stewart

Happy to have you back but Yikes! this is a toughie, so I am going with one of my faves since I will be seeing her in exactly 2 weeks; Stevie Nicks. I am now doing the hardest thing fjor me andposting and not adding another nameLOL

BOBBY

Karen Carpenter & Annie Haslam have such pure beautiful voices. Karen was a superb drummer as well. I never get tired of their singing. Also Kate Bush is wonderful.

Ellen Hakala

I have some cd’s that I put together of my most favorite female singers, I listen to the same ones every night as I go to sleep, and they have been my saving grace so sorry Andy I cannot just pick one…Emmylou Harris. Gretchen Peters, Amy Speace,Eliza Gilkyson and Eilen Jewell.

Vincent Peteroy

Hard to nail it down to one…
Lita Ford
Blondie
Olivia Newton John
Joan Jett
Sheryl Crow
Belinda Carlisle
Ann Wilson
Stevie Nicks

Lisa

My first instinct is to say Patsy Cline. But I’m go with Debbie Harry. She’s so versatile. She can sing about love with a vulnerability that’s pure. Then turn around a sing with wildness and strength. Yep. Debbie Harry for me.
