MUSIC NOODLES
– A new box set will collect all of Faces’ BBC Recordings from the early ’70s will be released September 6th. The eight CD and one Blu-ray box, “Faces at the BBC — Complete BBC Concert & Session Recordings 1970-1973” includes the band’s surviving BBC Recordings, more than 80 tracks with most of them previously unreleased.
– The Black Crowes have announced more tour dates for their Happiness Bastards Tour. The upcoming shows will begin on September 28 in Cincinnati and run through February, 2025. More than 20 dates are currently on the schedule for the tour; several dates include the Black Crowes serving as special guests on Aerosmith‘s “Peace Out” tour.
– Due to overwhelming demand, Eagles have added four more dates to their upcoming residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The new dates are scheduled for January 17, 18, 24 and 25 of 2025. Presales will begin July 23rd.
– Bob Dylan has revealed tour dates in Europe and the U.K. for the fall of 2024. The first scheduled show will take place October 4 in Prague, Czech Republic. From there, he’ll make stops in cities like Berlin, Paris, Edinburgh and more. The tour will conclude with three concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
– The revered Record Plant studio in Los Angeles is set to close after 55 years. The groundbreaking facility opened in 1969, but apparently has become a victim of technological changes in the music industry. Fleetwood Mac recorded “Rumours” there. The Eagles tracked “Hotel California” there. Guns N’ Roses later worked on “Appetite for Destruction” there, too. Other clients included Black Sabbath, Kiss, Billy Joel, Deep Purple, Queen, Judas Priest, Whitesnake and Nine Inch Nails.
– Rod Argent, a founder and longtime keyboardist for the British Invasion band the Zombies, has announced his retirement from touring following a stroke.

LATEST TREASON NOODLES
– GOOD NEWS for those who have asked… The band is printing up additional copies of both “THE CAP TANGO SESSIONS” and “WITH YOU” CD SINGLES released earlier this year, both of which completely sold out. This will be an extremely limited run of 25 CDs each. They will be available next week, so keep an eye on your e-mail inbox as well as in the UPTOWN Q Facebook Group. (They will not be made available to the general Facebook page or unsubscribed audiences).
– There will be no GROOVY NOODLES e-zine next week. An airplane trip in the name of music awaits. Time to prepare the noodles will be very limited.

“THESE WORDS” from the album “WITHOUT A TRIBE”
From Elm Treason’s LATEST studio album “WITHOUT A TRIBE,” here is the hauntingly beautiful ode to fractured communication “THESE WORDS.”
Deeply personal, with an elegant blend of chords richly darned with layered, harmonized guitars, this song has become, among fans, one of the best loved “deep tracks” in the band’s catalog.
Featuring Bobby Steel on lead vocals.

Trial begins for Judas Priest after they are accused of implanting subliminal messages in their song “Better By You, Better Than Me.” The suit alleges that the messages caused two teenage boys to enter a suicide pact (one of the boys killed himself instantly; the other died three years later from complications related to the suicide attempt). The case is dismissed August 24 after the judge determines that the supposed subliminal message is just an accidental recording oddity.

Out in Nature is about the only place that: I Do Not Listen To Music. Nature presents it`s own music, and I try and hear it without anything man made interfering with that process. Something may play in my head, but I let that happen organically without forcing it.
I tend to agree with you… The stillness and dramatic pause from the pace of life is welcomed.
Thank you, April.
Appreciate the comment, Rick.
Rocky Mountain High!
Great song.
If I were playing any music at all, it would probably be something very mellow instrumental, maybe some bluegrass or acoustic guitar. But the song THE EAGLE, by John Denver came to my mind.
Good choice, April. Thanks so much.
I agree with Rick, but immediately thought of Also sprach Zarathustra.
Thanks a ton for the comment, Russell.
As I do agree with enjoying the quiet, I also enjoy musical backgrounds for detaching from the busy world…Nantucket Sleighride by Mountain would be the first song…eventually making my way to Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, most likely ELP’s live version…
Excellent. Thanks, Michael.
Like a rock
Bob Seger. Well done.
Poco, Indian Summer.
Thumbs up on that one, Roger.
You guy’s have a lot of cool information about bands and muscians on the noodle. I remember a lot of these musicians, some I don’t, Seeing their ages now makes my back start to ache “Ben Gay” Anyway, keep up being cool!!
Appreciate it much, Roger
Sunshine on my shoulder…
John Denver‘s music seems to capture the mood and tone for many.

Well I have to guess what the scenery is… but going with the narrative and my own mind’s picture…I am going with, And it Stoned me by Van Morrison. Of course I can probably have an EP of the first 5 or 6 songs that I would play but that is probably because I am still in the throes of playlist heaven or hell depending where I am at in my playlist making…3800 songs? and some that are just so bizarre they don’t fit anywhere but would be ridiculous played in just one playlist! What is a girl to doLOL
Huge thanks, Shelly.
It’s an outdoor scene with mountains in the background… A lake in the foreground.
Maybe I would play Beautiful World, by one of my favorite lady singer songwriters but sadly it’s not so beautiful at the moment.
Thanks much, Ellen
