MUSIC NOODLES
– Queen has reportedly agreed to sell their recording, publishing and other rights to Sony Music for a record-smashing $1.27 billion. That’s BILLION with a “b.”
– The world’s biggest record label, Universal Music Group, announced plans to offer its artists AI models of their own voices. The corporation’s deal with digital startup firm SoundLabs will create software called MicDrop, designed to replicate an individual voice via machine learning techniques. The artist will retain full control of the model – it won’t be used in any way without permission, won’t be available to the public, and the voice owner will profit from its use.
– Yngwie Malmsteen will embark on a North American tour to commemorate 40 years of his solo career. The trek begins on September 26 in Fort Myers, Florida, and is currently set to run through November 18 in New York City.
– Stevie Nicks said that there’s “no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac together” following the 2022 death of Christine McVie. “Without Christine, no can do,” she said.
– The Black Keys have hired new management, just a few weeks after it was revealed they’d split with managers Irving Azoff and Steve Moir. They also cancelled their North American tour. The duo has signed a deal with Red Light Management. Among their list of clients: Don Felder, Drive-By Truckers, Dave Matthews Band, Primus, Stone Temple Pilots, as well as the estates of Tom Petty and Jerry Garcia.
– Mark James, the songwriter known for penning such timeless tracks as “Suspicious Minds,” “Hooked on a Feeling” and “Always on My Mind”, died at the age of 83.
– Jon Anderson (formerly of YES) has released the first single with a group of collaborators he found on YouTube. The song is called “Shine On” and the band is called Band of Geeks.

“IF I NEEDED SOMEONE” from the EP “FOR MERSEY’S SAKE”
We rarely do cover versions, let alone share them.
We prefer to do our own material.
However, once upon a time, Elm Treason put out a five-song Beatles cover EP called “FOR MERSEY’S SAKE.”
The most popular cut on the collection was the band’s cover of George Harrison’s great track “If I Needed Someone.”
Our tribute to a band that influenced us greatly.
THE FIRST CONCERT OF TEN ROCK STARS
Here are ten rock stars and the first concerts they ever attended…
Sting – Jimi Hendrix
David Byrne – Ravi Shankar
Boy George – David Bowie
Sheryl Crow – Peter Frampton
James Taylor – North Carolina Symphony Orchestra
Geoff Tate – Alice Cooper
David Cassidy – Beatles
Mike Reno – The Lovin’ Spoonful

THIS WEEK’S “TAKE ME BACK TUESDAY” VIDEO
On our main Facebook page, we posted this never-before-shared version of our song “MOOD.” We had never shared it before because the vocals were way too low. However, we used some awesome technology to enhance the vocals, and now we can bring it to you (From 2016).
Eight years after signing a “cessation of touring agreement,” Mötley Crüe kick off a co-headlining tour with Def Leppard in Atlanta.
Jimmy Page takes the stand in a trial where he is accused of stealing part of the song “Taurus” for the intro to “Stairway To Heaven.” Led Zeppelin played on the same bills with the band Spirit, who performed “Taurus” in their sets, but Page says he never heard that song before writing “Stairway.” The jury rules in favor of Led Zeppelin.
An audience member hurls a lollipop on stage while David Bowie is performing in Oslo, Norway. The lollipop wedges itself in David Bowie’s left eye (which already has an enlarged and frozen pupil following a childhood fight). Bowie halts the concert to remove the lollipop. Luckily, he escapes serious injury.
Megadeth is kicked off their tour with Aerosmith after Dave Mustaine is heard in an interview saying that his band should be the headliners. Jackyl and 4 Non Blondes open the remaining dates on the US tour.
At Earls Court in London, Pink Floyd play the last of 31 performances of The Wall, a unique stage show where a giant wall is erected (and torn down) as the band plays the album in its entirety. It’s Roger Waters’ last concert with the band, which breaks up in 1983 and carries on without him a few years later.
The Rocky Horror Show musical debuts at London’s Royal Court Theatre. Two years later, it starts a brief Broadway run and is adapted into the cult classic film The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
The organizers of the Woodstock music festival report that they have lost over $1.2 million on the event (money which they will later make up through movie and soundtrack rights).
The first Monterey International Pop festival begins at the County Fairgrounds in Monterey, California. It’s the first of many big Rock festivals, with The Who, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and The Animals among those performing. Many consider it the beginning of the “Summer of Love.”
Deeming its “butcher cover” in poor taste, Capitol Records recalls the new Beatles album, Yesterday and Today, which is scheduled for release the next day and has already been sent to stores.

“Do what you want to the girl, just leave me alone”….wait, Steve Martin did say that.
????
Where’s My floppy? Email or Message me!
Floppy?
Damn, Ed.
You broke my (Andy’s) brain with that one.
And unbelievably! Yes, a convicted felon, rapist can run for president of the USA. Imagine saying this in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s or 90’s!!! Thank God for music!
Let me Google that.
Yep!
“Google” has become the all purpose verb for searching Online.
Much like “Kleenex” was the all purpose word for tissue when I was A boy.
I just watched part of the show you went to last night, on youtube today.
Hmmm…
You-what?
“Hit up my DMs” ????
We use that one all the time, Nancy.
Ok, guys…. We Need a new Tshirt, with “Play loud. Listen louder. Rock onward!” And by We, I mean ME ???? but ya, We ????????????
(Words on the back, kewl image on the front. K, TY LoLoL)
Yes, I’m instigating, just like I instigated to get the Electric Session EP put out for us to consume, cuz we love us some Groovy Noodles!
This is why we love you, sister.
You’ve helped us before in planting the seeds for cool band product.
Let’s just say… The wavelengths we are both on are, at the very least, scrumptiously parallel.
I’m ordering sushi from Grub Hub.
Very true. I (Andy) don’t seem to remember that line – Or anything reminiscent of it – in an episode of “the facts of life” or “different strokes.”
What’s on Netflix?
It’s even hard to remember when Netflix was literally just a DVD borrowing enterprise.
“Where you at? Landlines were a thing – calling a phone that someone might be close to hear ring.
Good call. (Pun Absolutely intended).
Landlines that were restricted to a very specific area of the home… Or a box out on the street…
How the hell did we all live back then?
“Text me when you get home.”
If I (Andy) had a dime for every time I said that, Bobby and I would not have to have regular “Daytime“ jobs. Elm Treason would be a full-time gig.
I want an I pad!
I (Andy) wouldn’t mind one at all either.
Oh wait… Your answering the question…
Scratch that.
Can you put autotune on my vocals?
I (Andy) threw up in my mouth a little bit when I read that…
Looking for my Pepto-Bismol tablets.
Well he’s got 32 felonies. Who gives a shit, Im still voting for him.(Insert eye roll)
Did you plug in the car?
????????????????????
Yep!
“Hey, nice shirt”…”Thanks! Ordered it last night on Amazon…”
You ordered a shirt from South America?
You can learn to Twerk on TikTok.
that sounds almost painful. Like an ointment is needed.
If I needed someone was awesome!!!!!
Well, thank you, Roger. Appreciate that sincerely.
Like I said elsewhere in this e-zine, We certainly weren’t trying to improve upon greatness.
It’s just our way of showing a band we adore a little loud love in the best way we can.
Bromance; B. F. F; Treasonites and of course nobody was saying “I just downloaded that song or that album”
I am a little bit out of the loop here… I’ll have to go to a hipster, dictionary and find out what this word “Treasonites” means.
Thanks for the heads up, sister.
I’m Batman!
Spiffy!
