Rush
Succinct and right to the point. One word is all it takes.
The Velvet Underground
That is a great name. The imagery has always tickled me (Andy).
Foo Fighters
Hi Patricia!
That’s always been a bad name that has needed to grow on me (Andy).
Hearing the band name now is so second nature… But at first, I wasn’t sure what I thought of it.
Actually….I still don’t know what I think of it ????????????
I appreciate you commenting here. Thank you!
Anthony Gomes Canadian Blues Rock musician!
Awesome!
Tower of Power
Oingo Boingo
Elm Treason
…yeah, I know that’s more than 1 ????
Always loved the name, Oingo Boingo. Got to admit…
Toad the Wet Sprocket – don’t know that it’s “cool”, but I like it.
Who cares if others think something is cool or not? What makes “them“ the arbiters of coolness?
I love that band as well, Katie.
And trust me… I am anything but cool.
I would add April Wine, Steppenwolf, Bare Naked Ladies, and Arcade Fire to the list.
Outstanding, Ronald.
I (Andy) knew there would be others added to the list… And rightfully so.
Klaatu
Killer!
OMD orchestral maneuvers in the dark. Don’t like them but love their name…
Love that name as well! Good call, Michael.
Butthole Surfers.
Literally, one of my (Andy’s) favorite all-time band names… Top five, easily!
Oh there are so many that are cool! Frigid Pink, big song?; Elastica and right before I listened to Elm Treason for the first time on fb I saw an add for a band called Cinnamon Rain and I did not like their music but thought it was a very COOL name but still my winner is Toad the Wet Sprocket!
That is the second time that “toad the wet sprocket” has been named here on this thread…
Gotta agree.
And yes… Cinnamon rain is a good one. Very good.
Disturbed
Good one, Sara.
Brevity is the soul of a great band name.
Figuratively and Literally, now that I (Andy) think about it…????????????
Pink Floyd, ZZ top, and of course and Elm treason
The name, Pink Floyd, whether or not one digs the music, is a stellar name. Agreed wholeheartedly.
Thanks, Steven.
Gotta be “Spinal Tap”… though “Dr Hook and the Medicine Show” is a close second!
Your comment goes to 11!
The WheelBillie’s, My sister’s band
Love that name, Roger. Very good. Thanks, man.
Jethro Tull
Jethro Tull! He is very good ????????????????
As good as Leonard Skynyrd. He’s also good
By the way… Which one’s Pink?
HEAD
SHOP
Sweet!
Did it much.
Pretty The Wolf
Love that one too, Mike. Thanks so much.
Love The Little Willies, Blue Ridge Rangers and Salty Dog
Stellar choices, Ellen.
I (Andy) am Especially partial to “little willies.“
Being a Child of The 60`s, I have always liked the name and the songs of: The Doobie Brothers and Foghat.
Great names, no doubt.
Thank you, Rick.
Little Feat, Deep Purple, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Cream, Grand Funk Railroad
All excellent Nomenclature… But I (Andy) have always been partial to “cream.”
Especially the way the band was introduced when it first came out… They were always introduced as “the cream.”
Not unlike the earliest days of Pink Floyd, they were introduced as “the Pink Floyd.”
I have always loved that
Trigger Hippie
Question Mark and The Mysterium
Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars
Scruffy the Cat
Jefferson Airplane
