–New Pre-order announcements for the album’s general release on August 14th will begin next week through the band’s main Facebook page. You Say: I Plead Guilty
Hello Treasonites!
Here’s one we posted on our main Facebook page, but it was impossible to interact with people there… so we brought it into this more intimate setting.
Personally, a “guilty pleasure” song really is meaningless. If we like it, we like it…if we don’t, we don’t.
But we’re here to have some fun…
The connotation of a “guilty pleasure” song is one that we “shouldn’t” like, but we do. REALLY do. It’s out of genre. It’s not normally our style.
For instance. “I hate disco, but I really like that one Bee Gees song….” something like that.
Or “I hate rap, but I love ‘Funky Cold Medina.'”
Bobby might say “I Saw the Sign” by Ace of Base.
Andy might say “I Feel Love” by Donna Summer.
Someone comes up to you and asks you, “What is your GUILTY PLEASURE song?”
You say….

Here is a crazy one ” Mika” blue.
I like its energy
Just gave it a spin, Shirl.
Agreed. Infectious energy!
Mine is My Coo Ca Choo by Alvin Stardust, I still blare it out in the car, and I just recently found out he was miming the song the dude who sang it didn’t want to be out in the front.
VERY VERY cool, Ellen.
Groovy little fun fact there.
99 Balloons ???? by Nena! I know, I know! ????
That video is SO DAMN VIVID in my mind’s eye. And I (Andy) remember VERY CLEARLY both the German and English versions.
Do you really want to hurt me? by Culture Club. Lol. ????
Their breakthrough hit.
I (Andy) was a young teen, but I remember when that video hit the airwaves. It was played ALL THE TIME…. and yes, because of that, to this day, I still know all the words.
Love on the brain, Rhina an d pretty much anything by Luc Bryan, a little secret crus hing going on thereLOL
It is a secret crush no more, sister. 🙂
I hate techno but I love the song “Pump up the volume” by MARRS
I (Andy) think I’m with you there. I can’t believe I’m admitting this publicly… but YES.
Brittany Spears: Toxic
Oh yes. I (Andy) know it quite well.
Guilty pleasure, absolutely.
Do you have a deadline for this…

No deadline at all, brother. We are just looking for commentary and impressions over the course of the next several weeks, if possible.
As of right now, you’re the only one to respond to this request, but I’m quite sure others will follow suit once they receive their physical copies.
Hope so anyway.
And by the way, HUGE THANKS for what you wrote and how quickly you responded to the request.
You are our hero!
My pleasure to help
Bye bye bye-NSYNC
I (Andy) was working in radio when that song was new. I played it quite a bit at the Top 40 station I was working at. It got a LOT of requests.
Tubthumping by Chumbawamba
Ahh yes. It’s an earworm of POWERFUL PERSUASION. 🙂
Mmm Bop and Never Gonna Give You Up.
But really, any fun catchy tune that people think is a brainless waste. But it’s a guilty pleasure for the exact reason – it takes no deep thought or heavy feels. Too much going on in life to wanna think hard or feel too much to enjoy the music ????
Nancy, I (Andy) am with you.
I have LOTS of “mindless, inane” tunes scattered across my playlists… so-called bubblegum songs or non-intellectual party tunes or sing-a-longs. I have always admired the ability of songwriters to create songs that everyone knows and everyone can sing. I don’t think of it as creating soulless junk. I think of it as GREAT craftsmanship.
I’m gonna go with Bread’s “If”
I (Andy) have always liked that song and the way David Gates sings it. Pretty tune.
“She Drives Me Crazy” by Fine Young Cannibals
Hi Bob! I (Andy) actually can picture the music video of this one quite vividly.
Thanks, man!
Don’t out me. I will cut you! Donny Osmond – Go Away Little Girl and Puppy Love.
Oh yes… I know both of those tunes (the original of the latter being a Paul Anka classic from 1960 that I dig).
I (Andy) won’t say a word.
I Feel Love by Donna Summer and You’re the One That I Want by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John
Hi Lisa!
Okay… I (Andy) will say it… I love both of those tracks – especially the extended mix of the Donna Summer song. It can keep playing on and on as far as I’m concerned.
this week? Harper valley PTA.
