THE ELM TREASON NEWSLETTER NO. 35

Band Update
For the holidays…
Band activities will be slowing down a bit – not completely, but a little bit (very temporarily) – except for the shipping out of orders, the creation of these newsletters and keeping up with the Facebook page and emails. (That never stops). But music-making will be put on the back burner for a few weeks.
The studio will be dark for a little while.
Andy will be in Texas with family during Christmas and will stay through the early part of January.
Bobby will be staying in New York with his family during the holiday.
Your Input: You Play What?
You’re kicking back – no worries, no troubles. The world is out of reach… This scene is what you see before you. You have immediate access to every song in existence. What’s the FIRST SONG you play?

The first song I would play would be “Beautiful Child” by Fleetwood Mac . . . . .on Tusk.
Very good choice, Lisa. The feel of that tune would weave in and out of that tapestry quite nicely.
Thank you!
Admittedly, this is a cop out, because it almost physically hurts to choose just one. If I’m thinking of family, I play Rocky Raccoon because I sang it as a lullaby to my daughter and still do to my grandchildren. My daughter sings it to my grandkids too. Recently, my daughter told me that she always thought Rocky was an actual Raccoon, Juliet (4) thinks he’s a Kangaroo for some reason and Jack (7) understands that he is actually a Cowboy. This probably means that Jack will be an Elmer.
Splendid responses, Bill. The reasons don’t matter – or they shouldn’t in terms of why we choose certain songs for certain settings. Beautiful picks for beautiful reasons. Love it.
Thank you, brother.
Wonderful world. Louis Armstrong
Louis lied Place is messed up
The vibe of that song is so precious, so perfect. It resonates deeply. Truly does. But Satchmo’s voice… Not too much better in this world.
Thank you, Ann.
Well, that depends on my mood, so it could be anything from SRV to Earth, Wind & Fire to Vivaldi to Tom MacDonald. #AriesAreMoody LoLoL
..and THAT, frankly, is the beauty of music and what it does for (and to) us. Even when the setting is the same, the mood may be different. And for each shade of emotion, there is a song waiting to cuddle up against it.
Thanks so much, Nancy.
It could change depending on my mood but gotta go with a triple…Soulshine , Altman Bros. Then onto can’t you see by Marshall Tucker and ending with and it stoned me by Van Morrison!
Happy holidays Andy and Bobby and make sure to take some time kick back and enjoy your wonderful families❗️????????☃️????
Your comments inspire, Shelley.
What do I (Andy) mean by that?
Well, you inspire me to break out BOTH of those tunes while I answer emails and respond to comments. THAT is the power of music.
Beautiful.
Hope you guys have a great Christmas and enjoy the down time ????. Since it’s Christmas my song is Fairytail of New York.. The best Christmas song ever imo ????????. Cant beleive the snowflakes have it banned from the radio ????.
Great dad jokes. Im definitely stealing these ????
Such a GREAT song… and the type of snowflakes we DON’T need this Christmas season.
Thank you, brother. You are definitely a gift to us.
Rock on, you and your family.
Midnight Blue by ELO (assuming I’m with my love)????
Great song. Great choice. LOVE IT tremendously.
Thank you, brother.
I should clarify it would be Missing You but John Waite if I’m not with her????
Understood completely. Thank you for the clarity.
The Beatles “Good Day Sunshine” or Elm Treason’s “I Like it There” or ELO”s “Mr. Blue Sky” or perhaps something by Cat Stevens. I could go on and on, too many mood fitting tunes to choose from.
Hi Paul. It is an HONOR to be included among such heavyweights. Wow. Beautiful. “I Like it There” is one of those hidden tunes that not a lot of people mention from our catalog… butit definitely one of our favorites. 🙂
Thank you, brother.
